Student’s Dilemma

Leather-wrap Flash Drive

I am a nerd, and proud of it. While most kids my age played baseball out in the field, I read books. I play baseball sometimes, but I only do it in the comfort of my own home and against my virtual friends on xbox. My constant companion has been my computer and the internet. Am I a loser? I don’t think so. I way cooler than what you think.

Being a smart kid has some perks, with a lot more of disadvantages. Last week, I was quietly walking along the hallway into my computer class (in which I am better than everybody, I might say), the school bully, or clown, suddenly got my backpack and threw everything in it on to the floor. All the promotional flash drives that I collected fell out, and my classmates started screaming for joy. I can’t understand their humor, but what the heck, I don’t care.

All the custom promotional flash drives were picked up and I went straight to my seat. Everyone was looking, which made me really embarrassed. Good thing my teacher went in, and my world fell silent again. At least for a while…

I got out of the room and headed for home. I thought that I’ll just go on with my business for the day and play online later in the afternoon. But when I went out the school, all the students were staring at me, making fun of the little “incident” that happened, and teased me about the logo promotional flash drives that I collected.

Was that funny? I don’t think so. At least I have a lot of gigabytes of storage. As for them, I don’t think they can even spell it.
